Obituary for W. Glen Parks

WALTER GLEN PARKS, 73 of Airville, PA, died on Sunday, September 22, 2019 in his home. Married for 31 years at the time of her death, he was the beloved husband of Darlene Suitt Parks.

The only child of the late Walter Hughes Parks and Alice Laura (Matthews) Parks, he was born on July 14, 1946 in Havre de Grace, MD, attended the former Lower Chanceford School before graduating in 1965 from Red Lion Area High School. Known to all as “Glen”, he had worked for over 40 years for York International as an assembler/tester, retiring in the early 2000’s. Glen was strong in his Christian faith and had been a long time member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church where he had served as an usher and with the Bible Assembly Ministry where he assembled and shipped scripture portions worldwide.

Glen was known to have a quiet personality and gentle spirit. He enjoyed watching western movies and the Hallmark Channel family programing. He frequented car shows in earlier years and was very fond of his new grandsons.

Matthew Parks and his wife, Anna of Airville, PA
Samantha Kreider and her husband, Kevin of Quarryville, PA

Two grandsons-Andrew Kreider and Jackson Parks

Services will be held on Friday, September 27, 2019 at Mt. Zion Baptist Church, 48 Muddy Creek Forks Road, Brogue, PA with a visitation from 12 – 1 p.m. followed immediately with the funeral service. Interment will be in the adjoining church cemetery with his minister, Pastor Chris Starr officiating. Everyone will be invited to the church social building following the committal for a time of reflection and refreshments.
